Early 19th Century Rustic Dutch Oak Side Table
About the Item
Early 19th century rustic Dutch oak side table was literally designed to last for centuries! Using beams and thick planks of solid, old-growth oak, the artisans created an incredibly sturdy design, with four heavy posts on each corner joined to a plank apron above, and squared plank stretchers below for extra reinforcement. A full width drawer with turned wood knob adds a convenient storage spot. The solid plank top is affixed with Dutch runners into slots on the framework using a technique that has been handed down for centuries in the Netherlands.
Circa 1830s.
