About the Item

Monumental early 19th-century French Provincial kitchen island or large work table, sourced from Provence. Hand-carved from solid oak, it features a 5'9" long, thick rectangular top crafted from a single slab of wood. The piece has been structurally restored and gently refinished to reveal a rich mid-to-dark brown tone, enhancing the natural character and depth of the aged oak. Three spacious drawers line the front, built with large wrought iron bolts and nails, and finished with classic metal ring pulls. The apron clearance measures 22.75" from the floor, offering comfortable legroom for seated tasks. Raised on hand-carved, tapered legs joined by a thick trestle stretcher, the table is solid, stable, and boasts exceptional joinery. A timeless piece that embodies the rustic charm and enduring craftsmanship of traditional French Country style. - Origin: Provence, France - Dimensions: W 71.75" x D 32" x H 32" - apron clearance 22.75" - Condition: The table has been structurally revised and gently refinished, preserving its naturally aged, rustic patina.
