French 17th Century Moulin, Grain Grinding Billot

About the Item

A sensational Arte Populaire Billot used for grinding grains, corn, wheat, etc. It is constructed from a massive billot, chopping block with many iron pieces embedded into the surface of the block. The ground grains would fall out the square opening seen on the top. A sensational Folk Art piece that serves wonderfully as an occasional table for any primitive environment. The dimensions at the feet are 25" X 28". Terrific patina.
