19th Century French Louis XVI Giltwood Marble Top Pedestal is a beautiful work of the furniture crafter's art all unto itself, yet designed to elevate and display your prized sculpture, faience, delft vase, or any keepsake and objet d'art you deem worthy of attention! Exquisite foliate detail abounds in the apron surrounding the marble top framed with acanthus leaf gadrooning. Floral garlands hang between the boldly scrolled legs, which are embellished with bold scallop shell and bell flower carvings. The legs continue down to escargot scrolls and a tripod base below. The surface height is designed to elevate your special piece above the surroundings so it can be noticed from anywhere in the room, regardless of whether the observer is seated or standing. Timeless!
