Art Deco Inlaid Starburst Table/ Pedestal in Bookmatched Burled Walnut & Elm
About the Item
This stunning Art Deco occasional table/ pedestal in bookmatched burled walnut was realized in France circa 1935. It features a circular walnut base that supports an S-form body composed of two seamlessly adjoined streamlined forms, each with a circular shelf in the midpoint of each curve, nestled into the concavity of the streamlined supports. The top features intricate starburst marquetry consisting of geometric segments of inlaid walnut and burled carpathian elm, that beautifully showcases the inherent grain of the wood. With its iconic Art Deco forms, and beautiful construction, this piece is sure to delight discerning collectors of the period. It would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Deco to contemporary. Mint restored condition.
