About the Item
An Italian Regency style pair of carved wood pedestal tables, with Greek key accents, from the mid 20th century. This mid-century pair of tables from Italy each have a 15.25" diameter round top, and a gilt Greek key banding adorning the perimeter of the apron. The tables are raised upon four flute carved legs, with lion's head pull accents at their tops, and terminating into paw-carved feet. The legs are raised upon a shapely carved-wood base. X-shaped stretchers, set in vertical fashion, are braced between the legs and have a oval, floral medallion at their centers. These table retail their original cream and gilt finish. These vintage Italian Regency style pedestal tables would work well as a accent tables, drinks tables, or would be a wonderful way to display art or plants.

Pair of patinated and gilded bronze turntable pedestals with for each of them, three paw feet, headed by stylized lion muzzles, ornated with beaded chains and joined by a fine foliate stretcher. The belt is adorned by a banded frieze cast in low-relief representing an ancient scene : “The Battle of the Lapithes and the Centaurs”.
These pedestals can be associated with the "Vases de Bacchus", presented by G. Servant at the 1867 Exposition Universelle, on which the similar ornamentation is applied.
