This is an antique whatnot stand. An English, mahogany two-tier afternoon tea table, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1900. Attractive form and useful proportion Displays a desirable aged patina Select mahogany shows fine grain interest Rich russet hues to the wax polish finish Quality craftsmanship to the serpentine carved tier edge The two tiers arranged with diameters of 38cm (15") and 44cm (17.25") respectively Raised upon ornate turned baluster supports with eye-catching twist reed motif Standing upon a trio of cabriole legs with square knees over slipper feet This is an appealing antique whatnot, well suited to use as an afternoon tea service or display stand.
