About the Item

A super practical table in brown oak with dramatic burl / knot sections. Made from 600 year old English oak with some extraordinary burl sections in the legs and lipped edges. Lightly fumed to balance all the tones together and the lipped edges cut-back to reveal stunning grain pattern, almost tortoise shell. The legs are hand shaped into a curve profile with one leg having a butterfly key inserted to bring stability to a characterful split, the butterfly key is made from 4,000 year old bog oak from the Cambridgeshire fens. This would be ideal as an alcove table with ample space for books and some houseplants or indeed a great bar area with serving tray and some special bottles for cocktail hour.
