About the Item

Pieced bits of wood veneer create a beautifully executed marquetry design on this special table. The intricate geometric pattern acts as a frame for a square of burled wood. Highly valued for its swirling, freeform grain, burled wood is obtained from knobby tree growths that develop in response to stress and therefore exhibit abnormal graining. The table’s simple style, subtly accented with streamlined hoof feet and a flowing apron, complement its intricate decoration.
