Pair of Italian 19th Century Marble Plateaux Set Within 20th Century Brass Bases
About the Item
A sensational and extremely decorative true pair of Italian 19th century Pietra Dura marble plateaux set within beautiful 20th century brass bases mounted as side tables. Each table is raised by fine ball feet below the most elegant brass base with a wonderful contemporary feel and square supports connected by X shaped designs. The tops display exceptional recessed patinated bands framed within wrap around brass fillets with fine ball finials. The stunning fitted Pietra Dura plateaux above display charming finely detailed birds at the center of impressive family crests with luxuriant scrolled foliate designs and raised scrolled gadroon elements in a rich and beautiful array of marbles.
