About the Item

Rare and stunning 18th C. George I Japanned tobacco table. Either side fitted with candle slides and drawers. The dished rectangular top with re-entrant corners and decorated with a vase of flowers and chinoiserie figures within diaperwork spandrels, over a deep frieze with conforming decoration; raised on cabriole legs with foliate decoration ending in pad feet. Scattered losses throughout with an age split on the top. Minor flaking to finish on top. Wear is consistent with age and use
