Vintage French Gilt Bronze Mounted Mahogany Marquetry Tiered Etagere Table
About the Item
A stunning example of refined French elegance, sophistication, and rich luxurious warmth.
Born in France in the mid-20th century, the finely hand-crafted mahogany étagère features a distinctive sculptural silhouette, having three quatrefoil shaped shamrock-form shelves decorated with floral and ribbon marquetry inlays in walnut, mahogany, beech, maple, fruitwood, and other exotic woods, surrounded by undulating scalloped shaped delicate wooden gallery. Adorned with ornate gilt brass ornamentation and chisled patinated bronze acanthus foliate finials, gracefully rising on gently curved scroll feet. circa 1960s.

Condition:
Great vintage condition. Presents well, with lustrous, warm, rich patina. Wear and tear consistent with age and indicative of use, including evidence of old restorations and past touchups. Scattered imperfections, but nothing that detracts from the display or functionality, but only adds to the antique character and charm. Overall a wonderful example, strong, sturdy, stable, and structurally sound.
