About the Item

“Africa Reinvented” by Keri Muller of Simple Intrigue, Cape Town, South Africa. A contemporary soft sculpture created from repurposed used paperback books retaining the binding of the pages, folding each individual page and creating wheels of form. These wheels are then cut to varying heights to create the textural surface for the artwork in the shape of the continent of Africa. Excellent condition. Dimensions: 29.52 inches high x 23.62 inches wide x 3.94 inches high. (75 x 60 x 10cm) Weight: 7.5 lbs. (3400grams) Date: 2024 Keri Muller is a multidisciplinary artist and underwater photographer. Her sculptural work focuses on using found books and plastics. Her works often include raw materials, crystals and wood, to create totems celebrating the commodities our earth provides. Her method involves reconstituting the range of objects into artworks that are organic in presentation, attempting to link an artwork and its materials back to its original source.
