About the Item
For this series of ceramic wall sculptures Franck Scala invites us on a journey by re-appropriating the reliefs of certain emblematic natural landscapes. Fascinated by the impact of time, elements on rock, matter, he seeks to represent the phenomena graphically. Thus, he first begins by marking the earth randomly, then will let himself be guided by the shapes, the curves present to sculpt reliefs such as erosion shaping the rock of a landscape. The result is bas-reliefs illustrating a view of the sky, an overview, of canyons, mountain ranges, rivers, deserts or other emblematic landscapes. Technical details: Sculpted sandstone plate, divided into several tiles, then mounted on a wooden frame with integrated hook, to facilitate installation on the wall.
