« A well-educated young girl, a committed artist and curious about everything related to art, Niki de Saint Phalle loves myths. She loves them so much that she invented one for herself, made up of sinuous, rounded and brightly colored shapes, like a kaleidoscope. The serpent inhabits all religions; a veritable Janus, he embodies both supreme evil and immortality in the forces underlying the creation of life. A phallic symbol, it is omnipresent in representations of female deities. »
« She confided in 1985, in an interview on American television: “The snake is a very sensual animal; for me these snakes make love”. The perfume is, according to her, “composed of a mixture of fantastic flowers, a ray of sunshine, the play of snakes, the mystique of the moon and stars and a touch of love”.
