An unique piece of Art by Bram Bogart, painted in reddish and black color paint on a heavy piece of ceramic.
The artist's signature and date "Bogart 98" are incised at the left lower side of the front,
On the reverse of this piece of Art is also incised the reference number "21" and letter D written, also incised the date "1998" On the left side on the reverse also marked with stamp in round by Publisher 'F. Delille and Atelier Studio J.M. Foubert'
With this piece of Art is included a certificate of authenticity, and photographs attached, signed by the artist. This object will be described in the "ceramics" catalog under number 21D and measures 43 cm high, 53 cm wide and 7 cm thick.
The weight is approx. 15 kilos
Bram Bogart, born with the name Abraham van den Boogaart in Delft 1921 in The Netherlands and died in Sint-Truiden 2012 in Belgium. He was a Dutch/Belgian abstract painter, sculptor, graphic artist, ceramist and designer.
During period late 1930s-1940s in The Hague and Delft in the Netherlands and in France, he painted landscapes, cityscapes, still lifes and figure representations, painted in a style of expressionism
After a period in Rome, he settled permanently in Belgium in 1960 and took the Belgian Nationality in the late 1960s. Here he started with his characteristic, massive paintings built up in thick layers of oil paint.
Bram Bogart's works have always had a monumental character and made him one of the important representatives of so-called matter painting.

Bram Bogart
Bram Bogart was a Dutch painter and artist associated with the COBRA group. After World War II, he moved to Paris, where he was among the founders of Informal Art (also known as Arte Informale). He experimented with Cubism and figurative drawing, depicting flowers, still-lifes and self-portraits. In the 1950s, he worked on the impasto technique. In 1961, he went to Belgium and, in 1969, he became a Belgian citizen. In 1971, he represented Belgium at the Venice Biennale.
