For sale an original signed museum-quality Magnum 6x6 photographic print by MARTIN PARR (British, born 1952). Titled "Pyongyang, North Korea. 1997", this Magnum print was a time-limited edition that was only available to purchase for a period of five days. The work is signed to the back on an affixed archival label, which carries the image’s accompanying text and is printed on Fuji Crystal Archive Matte paper. The piece is mounted in a white lacquered frame. The accompanying text by the artist reads: “North Korea is maybe the most surreal country on Earth. Being there is like walking around on a film set. People don’t want to engage with a foreigner, such as myself, but I loved coming across this baby, who was very happy to stare right back at me!” Martin Parr thinks of his photography as an ongoing investigation of human interaction, leisure, and context.
