About the Item

Work entitled Yellow Tale by Giacomo Figus. Painting made with the use of thin wooden boards shaped to fit together almost like a jigsaw puzzle and then painted. Original and innovative technique used allows the author to express a story in its entirety. The numerous interlockings create figures within figures that make the work a perennial discovery. The artist shapes wood almost as if he were a luthier, by the way the use of violins is extensive in his works, the shape is used to bring new figures to life. The work is signed on the back and dated 2006; it was exhibited during an exhibition at a Contemporary Art Gallery in Turin. Peculiar and eclectic, this painting is ideal as an investment as the author is still alive and highly regarded for his innovative techniques. The painting is in excellent conservative condition. Giacomo Figus is a Genoese artist who later moved to Turin where he devoted himself to printing, producing print runs on the work of Giacomo soffianti, Abacuc , Aimo and many others. His works have been shown in several exhibitions, one in particular, a bronze, is on display at GAM in Turin.
