19th Century French Hand Painted Barbotine Wall Platter Signed Aine Gambut
About the Item
This colorful, antique terracotta hanging plate was sculpted in Beaune, France, circa 1860. The oval plate is hand painted in a green and violet palette and has a beautiful trompe l'oeil texture. The wall decoration features two Italian style goddesses or muses talking to each other. The platter is signed on the back "Gambut Aine a Beaune". Excellent condition with rich colors. Hook in the back for easy installation.
