Ceramic Wall Panel Sculpture by Andrée & Michel Hirlet, France

About the Item

'Blue' Wall Panel by Andrée & Michel Hirlet Material: Glazed stoneware Dimensions: H 230 x 85 x 20 Type: One-of-a-kind Year: 2018 The exploration of volume consistently defined the artistic journey of Andrée and Michel Hirlet. Enriched by color and texture, this piece stands among the very last creations realized by the duo before Michel’s passing in 2020. Revolving around sculptures and functional furniture over the course of five decades, the Hirlet explored the interplay of color and form through combinatory geometric volumes, spanning from intimate, small-scale pieces to monumental urban commissions. This piece, straddling both art and design, reaffirm how the principles of rigor, logic, and formal play—hallmarks of their research—remain as relevant as ever today. Original piece from the Artist’s studio, signed and dated.
