Federico Quattrini (20th century) was one of Italy's most influential postwar ceramicists. Known for his innovative techniques and bold use of color, Quattrini has combined traditional craftsmanship with a modernist spirit, creating works that are now sought after by collectors worldwide. His ceramics bear witness to an era of great artistic and cultural ferment in Italy, and each piece reflects his unique craftsmanship and vision. "In the immediate postwar years, after his initial pictorial experiences in Milan and his first exhibition of paintings and drawings held in Venice in 1939, he came to Albisola in the post-World War II years and approached the subject of ceramics, which would lead him to sculpture, firing his works in clay in the kilns of Pozzo Garitta. In 1949 he made his debut as a ceramist presenting some of his works, unique pieces. In 1952 he participated in the National Ceramic Competition in Messina, in 1954 in the Exhibition of Master Ceramists at the San Fedele Gallery in Milan, and in 1956 in the International Ceramic Competition in Faenza. Moved by a deep religious faith, he produced numerous works of a religious nature, including the large Via Crucis destined for the chapel of the Bishop's Complex in Vigevano in 1957. In 1960 he presented a bronze statue at the Premio Citta di Forlì and from the same year he was present at all editions of the Albissola Ceramics Festival where, in 1961 he was awarded a gold medal. In 1962 he participated in the Vigevano Biennial of Sacred Art and the Monza International Exhibition. In 1963 he was invited by the municipality of Albissola Marina to participate, along with other leading ceramists, in the creation of the Artists' Promenade. In the same years he made for the Parish Church of Albissola Marina, a white monochrome bas-relief depicting the Stations of the Cross."
