About the Item
This large, richly colored ceramic platter was crafted in Germany circa 1920 and captures the rustic charm of a traditional Black Forest hunt scene. Round in shape, the hand-painted art composition features two hunters seated on a grassy hillside, enjoying a moment of rest as they smoke their pipes and share a meal. Two attentive hunting dogs accompany them, while a majestic trophy stag lies in the foreground, its antlers prominently displayed. A rifle rests nearby, completing the deer hunting scene. The ceramic wall decoration is in good condition commensurate with age and use, with rich patinated colors in the brown, green and beige palette. A striking addition to any hunting lodge, mountain retreat, or rustic interior! Hanging wire in the back for easy installation. Some small paint chips on the plate see detailed images.
