This extraordinary piece is a handcrafted masterpiece of silversmithing, created in the first half of the 20th century in renowned jewelry workshops (as evidenced by the label on the back from a jewelry shop in Madrid). Features: Inspiration: The panel is inspired by the renowned Retablo de San Miguel de Aralar, an exceptional example of medieval European religious art declared a Cultural Heritage Asset (Bien de Interés Cultural). Historical Context: The original altarpiece, crafted during the reign of King Sancho VI the Wise in the late 12th century, is attributed to a French workshop in Limoges and is housed at the Sanctuary of San Miguel de Aralar in Spain. Material and Craftsmanship: Materials: Made of gilded bronze, enamel, and inlaid with semi-precious stones, including turquoise, malachite, citrine, and agate.
