About the Item
Beautiful Italian woven tapestry of captian.
20th century.
This tapestry is a representation of an Italian fresco that is currently in Sienna. The figure on the tapestry is an Italian captain, or condottieri, by the name of Captain Guido Riccio da Fogliano after his victory over the castles of Montemassi and Sassoforte in the 14th century.
The machine woven tapestry depicting an Italian dressed in traditional war garments mounted onto a horse dressed in a matching fashion, on a mountain terrain, with a fortified castle off into the distance.
Mounted onto hanging rod with pineapple finials.

Meticulous attention was given to every detail and proportions of the rider and his horse.
