About the Item
This is a wall decoration made from a pillar from an old Japanese hut.
It was used as a pillar in a horse stable, and together with its companion pillar, it was used as a fence by inserting sticks into the square holes carved into it.
The roughly carved holes appear to be a design.
The wood appears to be chestnut, and its decay over time gives it a primitive, natural beauty.
Any areas that had become brittle due to deterioration have been scraped away and cleaned so as not to spoil the appearance.
The nail that was attached to the pillar remains on the back, and there is also a hook for hanging it on the wall.
We recommend using a pillar from a Japanese horse stable to display the primitive beauty of nature as an art piece on the wall.
