Pair of costume projects Peter Stepanovic GALADZEV (1900-1971), Russia, 1920

About the Item

This pair of watercolors represents two dancers in costume with geometric shapes and touches of complementary colors. The chin is directed towards the chest. The two drawings are monogrammed at the bottom right. Peter Stepanovic GALADZEV (1900-1971) is a designer, graphic designer and actor. GALADZEV studied at the Great Stroganov School of Industrial Art in Moscow and then at Vkhoutema. He has been immersed in the world of cinema and theatre throughout his career, from illustrator for theatre magazines to film actor even through the profession of film director. He also created costumes for shows like this pair of theatre or ballet dancers that is typical of the constructivist school. The state of conservation of the drawings is good with some small holes and small stains. Dimension: 9.06x 13.39 inches (frame: 12.41 x 17.13 inches) Cette paire d’aquarelle représente deux danseurs en costume aux formes géométriques et aux touches de couleurs complémentaires. Le menton est dirigé vers la poitrine. Les deux dessins sont monogrammés en bas à droite. Peter Stepanovic GALADZEV (1900-1971) est un designer, graphiste et acteur. GALADZEV a étudié à la grande école Stroganov d’art industriel de Moscou puis à Vkhoutema. Il a baigné dans le monde du cinéma ainsi que du théâtre tout au long de sa carrière, passant d’illustrateur pour des magazines de théâtre à acteur de cinéma passant même par le métier de metteur en scène de films. Il créa également des costumes pour des spectacles comme cette paires d’étude de danseurs de théâtre ou ballet qui est typique de l’école constructiviste.
