Rare Art Nouveau Terracotta Wall Plaque, Early 20th Century

Rare French Art Nouveau terracotta wall plaque, France, early 20th century. We had never seen this model before. This beautifully crafted plaque depicts a wood gatherer in the windy countryside, dressed in traditional country attire, complete with a hood and clogs. She carries a bundle of branches on her shoulder, symbolizing the rustic life of the era. In the foreground, a bush adds depth to the scene, while a tree rises behind her. In the distance, beyond the sloping hill, a house and possibly a mill are faintly visible, adding a serene charm to the overall composition. The plaque features a lovely green patina, enhancing its vintage character. Dimensions: Height: 16.5" (42 cm), Width: 9.25" (23.5 cm), Depth: 1.2" (3 cm).
