About the Item
Framed offset print of a charcoal drawing of the coastal South Carolina's Lowcountry by James Moore Rhett. Professionally matted in linen and framed in wood. Titled "Oak Tree and Sailboat," it depicts a placid coastal scene of an old oak with hanging moss stretched over the water toward a small sailboat with a heron or egret looking on.
James Moore Rhett (1893-1941) lived and painted all his life in Beaufort, South Carolina. His works, done mostly in pastels and charcoals, are charmingly naive, almost Oriental in their design. He captured the essence of the Lowcountry with a few simple strokes. He also made etchings and small scenes in India ink. His family's namesake gallery made this reproduction in the last couple decades, though the original charcoal drawing dates to the early 20th century.
Very good condition with no scratches, damage or wear.

Entertaining paper folding kit that is based on a 19th century paper folding system that was created by a man for his son in Europe. The kit includes a 12- page instruction booklet and 32 pre-scored sheets of colorful paper.
The slipcase is made of thick paper. The contents are protected by a white sleeve which slides into the slipcase; the instruction manual explains how to fold the paper into a horse, cow/bull, leopard/tiger/panther, lion, giraffe or camel. There are 32 pre-scored sheets of colored construction paper, except for 4 sheets which are white.
Very good+ condition. Slipcase is dinged at the extremities. Interior seems to have never been used.
Measures 7.5" square.
