Robert Storm Petersen (Danish, 1882-1949) – Storm P. Original Drawing: "De tre små mænd og Nummermanden" ("The Three Little Men and the Number Man / Trickster"). Ink drawing on paper, unsigned. The artwork consists of four small drawings forming one complete composition. Total frame dimensions: 44 x 57 cm (17.3 x 22.4 in) Each drawing: 21 x 28 cm (8.3 x 11 in) Framing: Mounted in passepartout and a gilded wooden frame Estimated period: Circa 1920-1930 "The Three Little Men and The Trickster" was Storm P.’s first regular comic strip series, first published in his own magazine Storm in 1913. The story follows three small, mischievous men and The Trickster (Nummermanden), a character known for performing pranks, scams, and absurd tricks on them. Storm P. is one of Denmark’s most celebrated illustrators, humorists, and cartoonists, widely regarded for his whimsical and thought-provoking social satire. His works remain an essential part of Danish cultural history.
