About the Item
Ubaldo Oppi è stato uno degli iniziatori del Gruppo Novecento, fondato nel 1922 a Milano. Erano artisti provenienti da correnti artistiche differenti ma con un senso comune; il ritorno all’ordine. Inoltre, Oppi è considerato uno dei maggiori esponenti del Realismo Magico, corrente che inserisce elementi tipicamente classicheggianti o figure umane inserite in ambientazioni sospese nel tempo.
L’opera in questione è un disegno realizzato con la sanguigna, una tecnica molto usata per realizzare bozzetti, su carta di misure 35,5x25,5 cm. Si tratta di un Volto di Donna e la peculiarità dell’opera è il retro che presenta uno studio, probabilmente di santi o due Madonne, realizzate in grafite con scritto “PRUDENTIA” e “TEMPERANTIA”.
Il disegno è datato 1928 e firmato in basso a destra. Inoltre, è presente un certificato di autenticità su foto firmato dal figlio di Ubaldo Oppi, con timbro della Galleria “La Scaletta” di Reggio Emilia.
Lo stato di conservazione è buono.
Il ritratto viene venduto comprensivo di una cornice non coeva e le misure totali sono di 54 x 43,5 x 6,5 cm.
