"Forward Together" Pride NYC 1985 by Suzanne Poli.
About the Item
'Forward Together" 1985 by Suzanne Poli was shot from her 4th floor fire escape on Christopher Street NYC.
The march then known as Heritage of Pride, now named NYC Pride March.
.At this time the AIDS crisis had reached massive numbers, and the Stonewall / Gay Pride movement expanded to a worldwide phenomenon.
This image was used for streaming on national ABC news for World Pride in 2019, the biggest event in New York City's history and again in 2020 during the pandemic.
'Forward Together" was also one of several Gay Pride images ever to be installed in a bank world wide,then Chemical Bank in 1993 now JP Morgan Chase in Greenwich Village on Sheridan Square next to the Stonewall National Monument and Stonewall Inn.
Soon after the images went up hundreds of gay and lesbian (LGBT) accounts opened in the bank,this brought a huge new market to the bank,and the banking industry ,other banks followed in their footsteps. There is only one image of this size on acrylic.
