About the Item

A beautiful and quite stunning black and white silver gelatin fibre photographic print by renowned American photographer Murray Garrett who was known for his candid portraitures/shots of Hollywood's elite A list stars. This work features the now iconic photo image of famed actress Marilyn Monroe outside Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood, California moments before she immortalized her hand prints in the sidewalk just outside the theatre on Hollywood Boulevard. The limited edition photograph is copyright embossed (Hulton Archive) and signed in black pen by Murray Garrett in the lower right margin. This image was used for the cover of Garrett's book "Hollywood Candid." The original photo was taken in 1953 though this particular piece was printed at a later date from the original negative. A breathtaking and exquisite image that quintessentially captures the sex symbol essence of Marilyn Monroe. Would be a great addition to any Monroe or photography collection or make for an eye catching stand alone accent artwork in about any setting.
