A set of 18 B/W Lobby Photos (8″ x 10″) from the cult film “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” from 1975. Incredible campy movie that prompted the audience to participate during the show with its dialogue and special effects. Starring Tim Curry as the alien transvestite scientist, Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwich as the ordinary newlyweds who seek help in an eerie mansion during a car mishap. Lots of other unusual characters, Riff Raff, Magenta, Columbia and Rocky. Meat Loaf has a cameo as Eddie, bad boy motorcyclist. If you have not seem this film, you must, especially at a midnight show at a theater to get the full impact. There are two copies of RG-64 9 photo. In order of photos: w. Cuban Pop Op Art poster for the retrospective of Cuban director Santiago Alvarez ‘s works held in Havana 1980, silkscreen by Antonio Fernández Reboiro. “SANTIAGO ALVAREZ 1961-1979 – retrospective national film theatre, april 1980” Printed reboiro/80 lower right margin and ink signed reboiro. Measurements: 18 inches wide x 28 inches high. Condition: Very Good. No issues. Santiago Álvarez Román (1919-1998) was a Cuban filmmaker. Alvarez wrote and directed documentaries about Cuban and American culture. He became head of ICAIC newsreel division in the 60s and developed an unique format for his docu films. Antonio Fernández Reboiro is a Cuban Postwar & Contemporary artist who was born in 1935. He studied medicine and architecture at the University of Havana. In 1963 he began to work at the ICAIC (Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry) until 1982 designing posters. Most of the highly collectible Cuban posters are from mid-1960s through early 1980s, the period called “el periodo de oro de la grafica cubana” (golden period of Cuban graphics). These silkscreens were develop with new graphic techniques, due in part that materials were not readily available and lack of formal graphic schools. The Cuban posters became known for the use of bold innovate images which were mostly for proganda. Photographic print - chromogenic - vintage - “Adriatico” by Italian artist Franco Fontana, 1975. Signed and dated by the author at the base. Franco Fontana: (Modena, Italy - December 9, 1933) is an Italian photographer, photojournalist and writer. 2775/5000 He began photographing in 1961. A frequent photographer at the "Fotoclub", his activity is mainly amateur, even though he carries out aesthetic research on various themes. Very important will be those dedicated to the abstract expression of color, carried out in a period in which abstract art in photography was to be found exclusively in black and white. In 1963 he exhibited at the Third International Biennial of Color in Vienna; the year after Popular Photography publishes, for the first time, a portfolio with text by Piero Racanicchi. He held his first solo exhibitions in 1965 in Turin (Subalpina photographic society) and in 1968 in Modena (Galleria della Sala di Cultura). The exhibition in his hometown marks a turning point in his research. Its complex activity and the international importance of its production can be summarized in some figures. Over 70 books have been dedicated to him, published by Italian, French, German, Swiss, Spanish, American and Japanese publishers; he has exhibited in public museums and private galleries around the world - over 400 personal and group exhibitions he has held so far. His works are preserved in over fifty museums around the world, including: International Museum of Photography, Rochester; Museum of Modern Art, New York; Museum of Fine Arts, San Francisco; Museum Ludwig, Cologne; Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris; Victoria and Albert Museum, London; Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam; Kunsthaus Zurich; Civic Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art, Turin; The Photographic Museum, Helsinki; Puskin State Museum of Fine Arts, Moscow; The University of Texas, Austin; Museum of Modern Art, Norman, Oklahoma; San Paolo Art Museum; Israel Museum, Jerusalem; Metropolitan Museum, Tokyo; Beijing National Gallery; The Australian National Gallery, Melbourne; The Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney - and private.
