With "Stairs", Pullen examines how violence, especially against women, is glamorized and how we’ve become desensitized to it. She recreates real crime scenes in highly staged, dramatic settings that question social norms and taboos. Her work draws viewers in while prompting them to reflect on their own voyeurism and the ethics of looking.
