Ulrich Schmitt, born in 1959, studied at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Munich.
(Academy of Fine Arts Munich) where he was a master student of Professor Gerd Winner from 1981-1989.
The artist won a DAAD travel scholarship to study for 1 year under John Hilliard at Camberwell College of Art in London.
Ulrich Schmitt has been working as an artist with the medium photography since 1988.
His very first exhibition took place at the Goethe Institute in New York in 1988.
He has been exhibiting regularly ever since. His work can be seen in public collections in Germany and Austria.
Since 2015 Ulrich Schmitt has been regularily exhibiting at the AIPAD Photography Show New York.
The photo shows the Bavaria with the Hall of Fame on Theresienwiese in Munich.
The architectural complex of the bavaria was built between 1843-1853 by Leo von Klenze (1784-1964).
The colossal statue of Bavaria was cast in bronze after a model by Ludwig Schwanthaler (1802-1848).
