About the Item

Ulrich Schmitt, born in 1959, studied at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Munich. (Academy of Fine Arts Munich) where he was a master student of Professor Gerd Winner from 1981-1989. The artist won a t DAAD travel scholarship to study for 1 year under John Hilliard at Camberwell College of Art in London. Ulrich Schmitt has been working as an artist with the medium photography since 1988. His very first exhibition took place at the Goethe Institute in New York in 1988. He has been exhibiting regularly ever since. His work can be seen in public collections in Germany and Austria. Since 2015 Ulrich Schmitt has been regularly exhibiting at the AIPAD Photography Show New York. The subject of this photo is the romantic Schwangau landscape with Castle Neuschwanstein, the fairytale dream castle of King Ludwig II of Bavaria.
