King Ludwig II, known as the Fairytale King, had this castle build between 1869 and 1872 on Mount Schachen (1866m) near Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The castle is build out of wood in the style of a swiss chalet.
Ulrich Schmitt, born in 1959, studied at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Munich.
(Academy of Fine Arts Munich) where he was a master student of Professor Gerd Winner from 1981-1989.
The artist won a travel scholarship to study for 1 year under John Hilliard at Camberwell College of Art in London.
Ulrich Schmitt has been working as an artist with the medium photography since 1988.
His very first exhibition took place at the Goethe Institute in New York in 1988.
He has been exhibiting regularly ever since. His work can be seen in public collections in Germany and Austria.
Since 2015 Ulrich Schmitt has been regularly exhibiting at the AIPAD photography show New York.
