About the Item
This stunning poster featuring artwork from the great French artist Jean Colin was created in 1960 to promote non stop air travel routes from New York to Mexico. Depicting a Mayan figure in typical Colin style, this piece has vibrant colour and is in fantastic mint condition.
This is the smaller version of the design that can also be seen promoting Air France and is a real gem of midcentury aviation and advertising history.

Jean Colin
Jean Colin was born in Paris in 1912. As a young adult, he discovered his love for drawing and art and eventually took part in various exhibitions such as the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs of 1947. In 1949, he traveled to Basel and joined a group of graphic designers, this decision would lead to the creation of the 'Alliance Graphique Internationale' in Paris in 1952. Colin worked hard as a young graphic artist, designing over three hundred posters and countless awards. He stands today as one of the most popular French poster designers.
