About the Item
One of the most iconic and sought after film posters of all time and the "one" for Star Wars collectors. Starring Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and so many more, Star Wars (retroactively titled Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope) was released in 1977 and forever changed the face of cinema. Written and directed by George Lucas, the film began a phenomenon franchise which is still going as strong as ever today.
An all-time great and holy grail for many, this original release poster was created in 1977 for the original promotion of the film. With a design from English artist Tom Chantrell, this is the extremely rare "pre-Oscars" version of the design without the Academy Awards the film won being included.
