About the Item
Very rare original American poster for the silent epic adventure film directed by Fred Niblo and was based on the novel of the same name. The film stars Ramon Novarro in the title role. The film tells the story of Judah Ben-Hur, a Jewish prince, who was wrongly imprisoned as a result of his boyhood friend Messala's corrupt ways. Judah Ben-Hur is sent off as a galley slave, and his mother and sister are imprisoned. Owing to Judah Ben-Hur's tenacity to stay alive, he returns to his homeland, and not able to find his mother and sister, who he believes are dead, he takes revenge against Messala.
This poster is now a true antique as it celebrates its 100th anniversary this year.
The piece is unfolded and conservation framed with UV plexiglass in a Tulip wood frame with acid free card mounts The size given is before framing. The framed size is 28 x 20 in. (71.1 x 50.8 cm)) This piece would be shipped boxed and sent by Federal Express.
