This is an original British Quad poster from the first UK release in 1996, Mike Nichols’ remake of La Cage Aux Folles. The film stars Robin Williams, Nathan Lane, and Gene Hackman, with a witty and heartfelt screenplay by Elaine May.
A hilarious and touching comedy of manners, The Birdcage follows the flamboyant owners of a South Beach drag club, Armand (Williams) and Albert (Lane), whose lives turn upside down when their son announces his engagement to the daughter of a staunchly conservative senator (Hackman). As they attempt to stage a "traditional" family dinner, chaos ensues in one of the most beloved comedies of the 1990s.
