About the Item
Original American Key book studio photograph for Frank Capra's Christmas masterpiece.
This film starred James Stewart and Donna Reed, is one of the most loved films of the 20th century.
Please note that this still is a key book still, mounted to a linen backing. Many studios spent extra money to have their most special photos, the key book stills, either backed with linen or printed on a heavy paper, both of which enhanced their durability. They had an extra 1" at the left or top, with punch holes, because of how they were stored. Key book stills are far more rare than regular stills, which has increased their popularity among collectors, since only a few were made per film. Someone trimmed away the extra 1" from the top of the still. This is quite normal with key book stills because of the punch holes.
The photo is conservation framed with an Obeche wood frame and card mounts and UV plexiglass. The size given is before framing, the size framed is Framed: 16 x 13 3/4 in. (40.6 x 35 cm)
