About the Item
Original antique travel advertising poster for Adria Ausstellung / The Adriatic Exhibition featuring a stunning illustration by Kurt Libesny (1892-1938) of a knight in armour holding a shield and riding on a horse while holding a mermaid with a ship and sailing boats on the sea near the coast against the yellow and orange glow of the sunset in the background, the decorative stylised text above and below. Organised by the Austrian Fleet Association, the Adriatic Exhibition was held from 3 May to 5 October 1913 in Vienna Austria that aimed to promote cultural and economic relations with the Adriatic coast. Very good condition, minor creasing, backed on linen.
