Additional Details:
Maison Sautel was founded in 1795 in Mazan in the Vaucluse. Nicolas Sautel had acquired a convent founded by the Récollets in 1611 and originally run by Françoise and Sybille d'Astouaud. There he discovered the secret of making this wine, which became very popular during the 19th century. Presented at major international exhibitions, it won numerous awards and medals, particularly in London and Paris.
