The Blue Boy by Thomas Gasinborough Print-Made in Italy
About the Item
This a print of the iconic The Blue Boy by Thomas Gainsborough from around 1770. It is believed to be a portrait of Jonathan Buttali, the son of wealthy ironmonger.
This print comes from Italy with a baroque brass frame and features a convex glass frame to really give this piece of art some character. The glass and brass are in very good condition, there is some minor imperfections to the backside of the piece, which are show in the pictures.

Legend has it that Gainsborough painted The Blue Boy to contradict the belief that blue was unsuitable at that time for the main subject of a painting.
