About the Item
Very Fine Gothic Revival Cathedral Style Wall Bracket/cabinet with Original Stained Glass and fine Bronze Details - cherub faces, door with detailed latch, column motifs, and scalloped arches. Estimated age is 1880 - 1890. The interior floor is clear glass. The structure is very sturdy. The door and latch work well. A new glass backing has been added which is edged with lead cam and is held in place with clear silicone caulking as shown in images. It can be easily removed and the caulking easily pealed off if more exact restoration is desired however this serves as a good secure backing with glass that is similar to the period. The clear glass floor has a small crack in the back left corner, see images.
The piece could be used as a wall hanging or on a table, dresser, bookcase or placed on a wall shelf.
