About the Item

Clothes hanger plate made by Otello Rosa for Ceramica di San Polo Venezia in the 1950s Ø cm 26 Ø cm 8 h cm 22 Ceramica San Polo was a renowned Italian ceramic workshop active in Venice from the 1930s to the 1970s. He was known for his high-quality hand-painted ceramics, often inspired by traditional Venetian designs. The laboratory was founded by Otello Rosa, a talented ceramist who had worked in various Italian ceramic factories. Rosa was inspired by the rich ceramic history of Venice and set out to create his own unique style that reflected the city's artistic heritage. The ceramics of Ceramica San Polo were appreciated by both tourists and collectors. The workshop's pieces were known for their vibrant colors, intricate designs, and high level of craftsmanship. Ceramica San Polo produced a wide variety of ceramics, including vases, plates, bowls, figurines and lamps. The workshop has also created custom pieces for customers, such as wedding sets and custom tiles. Ceramica San Polo closed in the 1970s and is today considered one of the most important Italian ceramic workshops of the 20th century. His ceramics are still highly sought after by collectors and testify to the rich tradition of ceramics in Venice.
