About the Item

A Louis XV French Aubusson pastoral tapestry from the second half of the 18th century, after designs by Jean-Baptiste Huet, centrally woven with a pastoral scene in a picturesque courtyard, featuring a young swain watering the flowers while a damsel reposes to his right. The scene is framed by an elegant drapery that is accentuated by floral garlands and swags, and anchored by a heraldic crest in the center of the bottom panel. Wool with silk inlay. Measures: 5’10” H x 7’0” W Hanging: The tapestry comes ready for hanging, with linen backing and a strip of hook and loop tape at the top end, which can be connected to the opposite side of the supplied hook and loop tape, which could be tacked to your wall. For those who prefer the use of a tapestry rod, we can add the appropriate size loops to accommodate your needs.
