Burnt bamboo towel rack, circa 1960s, bearing its original “Made in Hong Kong” label. An unusual and sculptural wall-mounted form composed of two circular woven backplates in burnt bamboo, each fitted with integrated metal hardware for effortless hanging. A richly toned wood bar spans the composition, intended for towels but equally well-suited to display a vertically oriented textile or small weaving. The interplay of warm, contrasting materials—reed, rattan, and dark wood—imbues the piece with organic complexity and visual harmony. Though utilitarian in origin, it reads as a decorative object, quietly commanding presence. Pairs elegantly with French Midcentury bamboo, tortoiseshell, and Chinoiserie. A refined, yet understated accent that lends material interest and a sculptural quality without taking up valuable table-top "real estate" by it's wall-mounted nature.
