About the Item

Dating back to the 20th century, this authentic wooden wall decoration, a barrel lid, is a vintage rarity from Portugal. It showcases a painted heron with a horseshoe in its beak, positioned on a yellow-red ribbon that frames the year 1751 with "EST." – the estate’s year of establishment. The inscription "Ferreira Porto" indicates that this barrel originally contained Port, from the Ferreira estate. With centuries of history, the piece reveals its layers of intrigue.
